A fellow with a thick Pakistani accent rang me up, claiming to be a technician from BT Openreach. He spun some tale about my internet speed and insisted my computer was riddled with viruses that were dragging it down. Said he could have it all sorted in just a couple of hours, but only if I granted him remote access to my machine. Quite the dodgy character, if you ask me!

I received a call that claimed to be from BT Openreach, saying there was an issue with my broadband. They asked me to log into my computer right away, which raised immediate red flags for me. There’s no way BT would suddenly ring me up and request such access out of nowhere. I ended the call straight away!
