I received a call from a number in Manchester, and the voice on the other end didn’t sound quite British. They claimed to be representing the Postcode Lottery. I informed them that I wasn't part of the Postcode Lottery. Instead of taking that as a hint to move on, the caller continued, insisting that I had 'won' some sort of discount card. I made it clear that I had no interest whatsoever, but then they began to beseech me. I reiterated that this was a cold call, yet it seemed to go right over their head. After repeating myself, they finally conceded and ended the call abruptly.

As soon as I picked up the call from a bloke who sounded Asian yet had an English name, I was on high alert. He had my name, postcode, and even my address! Claimed he was with the postcode lottery and that I’d won some vouchers along with a holiday anywhere in Europe. He then asked for my card details to “verify” my win. I wasn’t having any of it, and I told him to have a proper think about what he’s doing and to find a legitimate job. Hung up promptly and blocked the number.

Got a call from someone saying I'd won a special prize from the Post Code Lottery. They wanted my email and bank info so they could send a penny to check my account. I told them no way, if it’s the real lottery they’d already have my details. Then the person says they can’t keep any info because of GDPR rules. I pointed out that if they’re calling me, they obviously have my number, and since I pay by Direct Debit, they must have my bank info too. In the end, I just said I’d pass on the prize. Total SCAM!

Received a rather unpleasant call from a woman claiming to represent the postcode lottery-she insisted I’d won some sort of discount card. When I expressed my disinterest, she pressed me for reasons. I explained that it wasn’t my postcode anymore, to which she rudely retorted, asking why. I simply told her I’d moved house. Out of nowhere, this woman had the audacity to hurl the n-word at me and suggested I ought to return to Africa. I corrected her, stating that I’m not from Africa at all. Then she bizarrely described my house, mentioning it had a red exterior and a grey roof. Following that, she made an alarming threat to come and “chop my head into three pieces.” Truly shocking behaviour from someone who claims to be from Leeds or London, yet clearly isn't from Manchester. It’s appalling how nasty some people can be!

Received a call from someone claiming to be from a postcode lottery, asking for my sort code and bank account details. It struck me as odd because, if they were legit, they would already have my account number on file!
