On Friday, the 23rd of July, I received a call from this number on my mobile, but I chose not to pick up. Then, on the 24th of July, another number, 01214701872, attempted to ring me twice. Ever since those calls, I've encountered a complete malfunction with my phone; it’s been rendered useless, and my SIM card appears to be completely wiped. Just a heads-up to others out there!

They said they were from some company called Fusion and wanted to quiz me about the brands I buy. Then they said they had to check my full name first, and I just told them no and ended the call.

Oddly enough, she used the nickname I typically provide when I fill out online comparison forms, specifically for energy providers. She assured me she wasn’t trying to sell anything but instead wanted some feedback and mentioned a company called Fusion. First, she requested to verify my personal details and stated that the call would be recorded for “educational purposes.” Then she rattled off various age ranges, inquired about my occupation, and asked which electricity supplier we were with. Interestingly, she seemed to “accidentally” mention Scottish Electricity-sounded a bit too scripted, if you ask me! I opted to decline answering each of her multiple-choice questions. In the end, she abruptly thanked me and hung up, leaving me in complete silence. Talk about impolite!

I firmly stated that I wouldn’t be verifying anything and requested they remove my number from their list. To my surprise, they bluntly replied that they wouldn’t comply. I mentioned that I would lodge a complaint, and at that point, they abruptly ended the call.
