I received a phone call from someone with a pronounced Asian accent, and it seemed rather dodgy. This person not only mentioned my name but also probed into an alleged road traffic incident that supposedly occurred over the past couple of years-one that I can assure you, never took place. I got a call from this number on Friday 23rd July but didn’t pick up. Then the next day, 24th July, a different number, 01214701872, rang me twice. After that, my phone started acting weird and now I can’t use it at all. It’s like it’s been damaged and my SIM card shows no data whatsoever. Just a heads up to watch out!

They said they were from some company called Fusion and wanted to quiz me about the brands I buy. Then they said they had to check my full name first, and I just told them no and ended the call.

I picked up and said "yes" like I usually do with calls from numbers I don't know. A woman with a strong accent asked to speak to me and used a name I always put on online comparison forms, in this case for my electricity provider. She claimed she wasn’t trying to sell anything and just wanted some feedback, mentioning a company called Fusion. First thing she asked was to confirm my personal info, then said the call would be recorded for training reasons. After that she asked about my age range, job, and which electricity supplier I use, sounding like she almost let slip it was Scottish Electricity. I kept telling her I’d rather not say on all those questions. Eventually she just said thanks and went silent on the line, which felt pretty rude to me.

Somebody rang claiming to be from Fusion. When I asked what it concerned, they refused to say unless I gave my name. I told them I wasn’t going to do that and asked to be removed from their calling list. They snapped back saying no, they wouldn’t do that. I then said I’d be reporting them, and they just cut the call straight away.
