This posh sounding lady rang my landline and asked for me by name. She started to pitch some cheap carpet cleaning deal. I didn’t cut her off or nothing, just calmly asked where they’d got my number from, seeing as I’m on the Telephone Preference Service list. She just snapped and hung up on me right away.

Had a lady with a really smooth way of talking claiming she was from a carpet cleaning firm. The minute I told her I wasn’t interested, she just cut me off. This number seems fishy, like it’s a different outfit calling every day - shouldn’t someone look into it?

So someone rang me looking for Mrs Newman (which is my previous married name). I told them there isn’t any Mrs Newman at this number and asked who it was. She said her name was Debbie, then quickly realised she’d called the wrong place! After that, I looked up the number online and stumbled across this site.

18/11/4 A polite woman called saying my husband started some kind of call blocking plan a while back and said we owed money for it now. Total scam! My husband never signed up for anything like that. Don’t fall for it - just end the call straight away! No way!

Just as she was about to delve into specifics, I interrupted and made it clear that I had no need for any security features. She mentioned something about a previous payment of £98.99, but I firmly asserted that I had never made such a payment before bidding her farewell.

Some young bloke with a proper posh way of talking rang me claiming he was with call protection or something, said he worked with my phone company but couldn’t even name them right. Just as I was about to call him out on the scam, he goes and cuts the call. Honestly, will these lot ever give it a rest?

Got a call from a woman claiming she was from some cleaning company, asking for my mum who passed away about three weeks back. The phone line is still in my name since we moved in to take care of her. I explained that these unexpected calls about someone who's died are really upsetting for us and told her to delete all her info from their system or we'd have no choice but to report them for harassment!

I asked if I was paying by direct debit or if it was an annual fee, but the person on the line said he wasn’t the accountant and didn’t have a clue. If this was genuine, I’d have thought that info would show up on their screen. When I mentioned that most of my annoying calls come from people like him, he went all defensive and said I was being rude. Well, sometimes the truth stings! They promised to send me new paperwork, but I’m not holding my breath.

My elderly mum got a call from these scammers trying to get her bank info to charge £98 for some call blocking service for two years. Luckily she was sharp enough and said her daughter handles all her money matters. The woman on the line was proper rude, saying my mum should’ve mentioned that straight away before hanging up on her. Please make sure your older relatives know about this, seems like they’re targeting elderly people. BE CAREFUL!!!

Definitely steer clear of this number!

This morning at approximately 11:10, I received a rather dubious phone call from a company called Call Secure. Interestingly, I had a similar encounter back in May of the previous year. The caller was adamant that I had signed up for their call blocking service and that I supposedly forked out for the first three years' worth of coverage back in 2015 using my debit card. According to him, I now owed them the remaining balance. Last May, they insisted I had made a payment of £49.99 and still had £98.99 to settle! To make matters worse, they even resorted to threatening legal action. The chap claimed he was about to send me some paperwork for my account but insisted he needed to verify my card details first-something I firmly refused to do before hanging up. They rang me again after that, but I chose not to pick up this time.

On January 18th at precisely 10:20 in the morning, I received a call from a rather articulate gentleman who seemed familiar with my name. He quickly rattled off my address but the rest of his message was utterly garbled and indecipherable. When I inquired about the purpose of his call, he oddly failed to provide an answer and simply hung up abruptly. Quite a peculiar situation!
