Got a call from 01612501359 saying it was HMRC. Some woman’s recorded voice told me to get in touch with a Martin Bell or have my solicitor call, otherwise I’d be arrested. This happened on the 11th of Jan 2021, and funny enough I got a similar call on the morning of the 9th Jan which was a Saturday! Proper scam if you ask me.

I got a call from +44 161 250 5077, some bloke claiming to be from HMRC. He had an Asian accent and kept asking for my details, but I didn’t give him anything. Felt a bit fishy, so I just hung up.

Received a missed call from this number, and they left a voicemail. It’s definitely not local to Manchester - the number starts with 44 instead of the usual zero. When I dialled 121 to listen, there was a recorded message from a woman speaking with an American accent pretending to be HMRC. She warned that if I didn’t get back to them and pay the supposed debt, they’d have me arrested and told me to speak with my lawyer. I’ve blocked this dodgy number and recommend everyone else do the same.

Just got a call from someone who said she was Norma Mitchell, supposedly an officer from HMRC, but had a really strong American accent. I got this voicemail from a Norm Mitchell, then some automated woman's voice started talking about legal stuff. When I tried calling back, the phone didn’t ring but eventually some guy with an Indian accent picked up, claiming he was Brian Tellis, a fraud investigator from HMRC. He said I owed £4000 in taxes and that I was being taken to court. He also mentioned I’d be getting a registered letter from Royal Mail soon. Later, I rang the number 0345 300 3900 again and the man warned that all my bank accounts, passport and driving licence would get frozen. Very fishy if you ask me.

Received a call that went straight to voicemail, unmistakably a scam pretending to be from HMRC. Curiosity got the better of me, so I decided to ring them back to have a bit of fun. They answered with "HMRC, how may I assist you?" Got a call from someone claiming to be Officer Norm Mitchell from HMRC at 1.39pm on 08/01/2021, number 0161 250 1359. They warned me about legal trouble unless they heard from my solicitor. The call finished off with a “have a nice day” or some sort of polite phrase, but it was obviously just a scare tactic. Totally felt like a threat.

01/08/2021 at 10:23 - Got a dodgy call claiming to be from HMRC. Seemed pretty much the same as others people have mentioned here. They said their name was Norm Mitchell and claimed to be from HMRC. They said it was urgent and if my lawyer didn’t get back to them soon, I’d be facing legal trouble. Finished off with a “Take care and goodbye” which felt like they were trying to scare me. I just rang the number back, and they had the audacity to request my name and postcode. I refused to provide either, especially given that they claim there are supposed “legal ramifications and solicitors” at play. If that's the case, they ought to have my details on record somewhere, don’t you think?
