The individual on the line had quite a pronounced accent that was unmistakably foreign. Claiming to be a technician from BT's support team, he insisted my Wi-Fi had been compromised and there were numerous unauthorised users slowing down my internet connection. He went on to request remote access to my router, as well as my account ID and password. While I do happen to have BT as my internet service provider, there's absolutely no chance I'd be gullible enough to fall for such a blatant scam.
