Got a call from a number supposedly in Manchester but it was actually from Bahrain. I managed to keep the person on the line for a while as they tried to tell me there’s another Manchester somewhere in Mamlakat al Bajhrayan or sumfink. The whole thing was about "Give your BANK details so we can sort your PPI payment." Yeah right!

This number got in touch with me a couple of days back. It was a company dealing with PPI claims. I told the woman to take me off their call list and not to ring me again. She just ended the call. Then, they rang me again less than a minute later, but I didn’t pick up. Now today, I’ve got a packet from Ascend through the post with all the info needed for a claim and a thank you note for choosing their services, plus a client reference number and all that. If it turns out they’re the same lot who keep ringing me constantly, I’ll be reporting them to the right authorities.
