On 12th September 2015, I got a call from a bloke saying we'd applied for PPI a few months back and were owed £3857, with a cheque number 256143 ready. He asked me to ring 01618189990. Funny enough, we had actually made that claim quite a while ago. When I asked if they could send a letter to confirm, he said no, we just had to call that number. After reading the comments earlier, we realised it was a scam - the amount matched, and the caller had a strong Far Eastern accent. Big thanks to the anonymous person from last month who explained exactly what was going on!

Someone kept ringing me from this number, and all I could hear was heavy breathing on the other end.

This number called me and started making disgusting threats, saying all kinds of horrible stuff like rape and even death threats. I managed to trace it back to somewhere near Springfield in Manchester. If my husband tracks these idiots down, they won’t have any fingers left to make sick calls like that again.

Got a call from some guy with a foreign accent on this number, and when I asked what he wanted, he just ended the call straight away!

I got a call from a guy claiming to be Kevin Peterson, sounded like he had an Asian accent or something. He told me I was owed about £3857 from some PPI with Halifax and gave me a number to ring, 02032872235, so I could check the details. He mentioned a cheque number, 452547, and an incident number 36. I just looked up that 0203 number and it’s linked to scams too. Definitely seemed dodgy to me.

Got a call from someone with an Asian accent claiming I had PPI and needed to fill out a form, which I don't recall doing at all. They said I'd gotten £3,000 back, but they'd only charge a 10% fee since they claimed to be a government agency teamed up with the banks. Told me to nip down to the Post Office and send a money gram or something. I lost interest right there and tried calling them back, but the line was busy nonstop. Don’t fall for it, it’s a total con!

Got a call from some stranger claiming to be from the bank about PPI refunds. Number wasn’t saved or recognised. Sounded a bit dodgy if you ask me.

Got a call about some kind of PPI refund, but then they wanted me to pay quite a bit of money at the post office first, saying the cheque would come later. Honestly, don’t fall for it - it’s definitely a con!
