Got a random call on my work phone from this firm, which was odd as I'd never had anything like this before. Some guy calling himself 'Junior' wanted to chat about PPI on a loan I supposedly took out a decade ago - which is nonsense as I've never had a loan in my life. Me and my husband tried to figure out what he was really after. I asked him for his full name, and he said Junior Williamsons, but then he started getting all jittery. It was obvious he was getting instructions from someone nearby. When I requested to speak to the person helping him, he just cut me off straight away. You could hear typical call centre sounds in the back, but the questioning was amateurish at best. Really useful to have your website to verify this nonsense. - caller from Drummonds, Manchester

Got a call out of the blue on my work phone from this company, which is really unusual for me. The bloke, calling himself “Junior,” tried to get me to talk about PPI from a loan supposedly taken out a decade ago. Problem was, I’ve never had a loan in my life. My partner and I were both pretty confused about what he was after. When I asked for his full name, he said “Junior Williamsons” but suddenly sounded all flustered. You could tell someone was coaching him off to the side. Then, when I asked to chat with whoever was guiding him, he just cut me off straight away. I could hear fake call centre sounds in the background, but honestly, the questions were so amateur. Really glad I found this site to check him out.

So, someone kept ringing me looking for a Kathy Ann. I kept ignoring the calls at first and then when I finally picked up, they started getting annoyed because I didn’t say it was the wrong number, I just put the phone down. They wouldn’t stop calling though, it was really annoying.

This number keeps ringing us non stop. My other half once picked up and it was a lady saying she was from Drummonds or something, who somehow already knew we'd bought a kitchen from Moben and paid with a credit card. She was really pushy, saying we could claim back on mis-sold PPI. How on earth did she get hold of that info? Our number's on the TPS list but the cold calls just don’t stop. Does anyone know how to properly block these calls for good?

they're trying to get money back on bank overdrafts and loans, so when they ring ask for someone, just say that person isn’t here and give another name instead.

Today I got a call from someone using the number 01612448215. The guy said he was going to send me some info about claiming PPI back from Lloyds TSB. I asked him quite a few questions about who they were and how they got my details. He claimed he worked for a Financial Claims Department based in Manchester. He also mentioned something about hiring a private investigator to find the info. He seemed a bit dodgy, his story didn’t really add up, but he didn’t ask for any personal info. If you get calls like this, just keep questioning them and if you feel sketchy, just hang up straight away!

I answered because the number seemed to be from Manchester. A young woman was on the line, and she knew my name, talking about a loan I supposedly had with Lloyds or TSB. She mentioned she was calling from a company - something like Drummins Ltd, although I wasn’t completely sure about the name. I told her I hadn’t taken any loan, and then she suggested it might have been with Barclays instead. Honestly, I couldn’t quite recall. After that, she apologised for disturbing me and ended the call. She wasn’t pushy at all, and I suppose it’s unfair to be harsh on someone just trying to make a living these days.

This number rang me recently, and alarmingly, the caller already had my first initial, last name, and complete home address. They also knew I’d bought a kitchen from Moben a few years ago. They said I’d unknowingly been charged for payment protection on the kitchen and offered to help me claim back £1,400. I started to get wary when they asked me to confirm my full name and which credit card I’d used for the payment - claiming it was for data protection before sending me any documents. I couldn’t quite remember which card I’d used, and the person on the phone suggested I just tell them a couple of card names so they could see if it matched their info. I said no and cut the call off. Haven’t heard from them since.

They’re quite convincing though, so I’m concerned others might fall for it.

this number called me out of the blue saying they were helping with PPI and that they already had all my information... not sure where they got that from. BE CAREFUL if you get a call from them!

Got a call from this number earlier but when I picked up there was nothing but silence. Just people messing around, it seems.

I've had calls from 01612448215 and their cell number 07899906474 as well. I kept quiet and just said my name was Simon, and I reckon they believed me! Definitely don't give them any real info.

I get calls from this number nearly every day. Whenever I pick up, there's no one on the line. I tried ringing it back once and got a message saying the Vodafone voicemail was full and to try later.

I keep getting calls from this number no matter what time it is, but they never say anything or leave a message. When I rang back, no one picked up. It's so frustrating! Honestly, these kinds of calls need to stop bothering folks on their mobiles.

Got a call around 6:15pm saying I could claim £3000 from my bank because of some overcharge. I told them I just have a basic account for my pension. They still wanted my sort code and account details and said they’d ring me back later. Looking back, maybe it wasn’t the smartest move to give them that info, but £3000 is quite a sum for someone on a pension.

This number has called me three times this week. The first time, the guy said his name was Reece, but on the next two calls it was a bloke called Lee. They claimed to be from some finance company and said I could get about £2000 compensation because I’d recently taken out a loan or credit card. I told them I’d never had either. Then they asked if I had or ever had a mortgage, trying to fish for some sort of business. The same questions came up on the second call, and again I denied it. They said they’d take me off their list, but I still got a call again on Wednesday with the same spiel. I told them they'd been bothering me for three days straight and hung up. I’m on the TPS, but these firms clearly don’t care since hardly any of them face punishment.

They’ve been ringing me every day for the past four days but never bother to leave a message when I don’t answer. Can anyone tell me which company this might be?
