Got a missed call on 19/2/15 around 8:25pm. Didn’t bother answering since it’s not the first time this number has popped up. Just left it be.

The person said they were from EE, which is who I get my mobile service with. They tried to pitch me some broadband packages from EE. The caller’s accent was pretty hard to catch and the call kept cutting out a lot. When they suddenly mentioned they were sorting out my order - I never asked for anything! I told them I was hanging up but they rang me again like 5 minutes later and I ignored it.

I've been getting calls from this number too. Picked up once and it was a woman claiming to be from EE, but the background noise was mental, sounded like some chaotic call centre. She just kept reading from a script, trying to sell me a phone contract for an iPad or iPhone, even though I told her I wasn't due an upgrade for another seven months. Despite that, she carried on with her pitch, barely understandable with that loud noise and her thick accent. She insisted I was eligible for an upgrade because I was a loyal EE customer. I told her I’d already checked with Orange/EE and wasn’t able to upgrade yet, and she suddenly hung up on me. Later, I rang Orange/EE myself from my mobile, and they said it definitely wasn’t them calling, and they wouldn’t offer upgrades over the phone like that. They reckoned it’s probably someone like Carphone Warehouse or Phones4U trying to push new contracts.

Got a ring from this number and the person on the line claimed to be from EE. She told me I've been a loyal EE customer and offered me an iPhone or iPad. Seems dodgy to me, so I just ended the call. Definitely a scam, watch out!

I checked the number and it turns out it's connected to a legit partner of EE, Orange and T-mobile. They've been ringing me nearly every day, usually hanging up just as I pick up or right before. The last calls were at 16:41, 17:07, and then oddly at 00:27 this morning. Today they actually stayed on the line a bit longer, but they kept asking for someone called Mr Jonas - wrong name, it’s Jones here. I gave them a bit of a tough time, told them there’s nobody by that name and asked them nicely to stop calling. They still pressed a couple more times before I just said please don’t call again and ended the call. Now that I know what they’re up to, I’m planning to take it up with Orange about these bothersome calls and block the number if it comes through again.

My daughter is only thirteen and she’s had two calls from these numbers already. The first call came whilst she was in the middle of her school lesson and she got a bit anxious since she didn’t know who it was. Got a call about 5 in the evening, some person said they where from EE and that i could get a bunch of free stuff like a new phone (even though ive only had my contract a few months!). i said i wasnt interested at all and never would be. then they just ended the call. could hear loads of background noise, sounded like they was outside or somewhere noisy.
