Got a call that sounded like a security scam, so I just blocked the number.

I got a call from a number I didn’t recognise, didn’t pick up, and they didn’t leave a message either.

Picked up then waited. Said “Hello” when no one answered. Suddenly the call dropped out.

Whenever I get a call, I just say "hello" once and then stay quiet to see if the person on the other end speaks. After a while of silence, the caller ended the call. The number showed up as a BT landline from Manchester. I don’t bother calling back though.
