Some bloke claiming to be Tom Smith from Microsoft called me today, saying my data was hacked or something. I told him I'd pass it on to my "IT manager" (which is a lie, I don't have one) and then hung up. He's tried ringing me about four times since then, but there's no way I'm picking up. Not happening!

Just got a call from 0161 2417940 claiming to be BT about my internet, ringing me before 8:30 in the morning - no chance! The bloke on the line was Asian and somehow knew my name and address, like that was supposed to convince me or something. I ended up hanging up, but then he had the nerve to call back asking why I’d ended the call! I hung up again, hopefully that got the message across. Shame I was in a hurry, otherwise I would’ve loved to mess with this scammer and waste his time a bit.

Some bloke named Jack Watson, who sounded Asian, rang me claiming to be from BT, asking if I was struggling with my internet - funny enough, I actually was. Problem was, my connection's through Sky, so he was off to a bad start. When he tried to get me to log into my computer using some info he gave, I rudely told him to get lost and ended the call.

Got a silent call the other day, I picked up once and this person asked for me by name, saying I was causing some sort of issue... didn’t let her finish, I just said I know it’s a scam and hung up straight away. Since then, they’ve called me a few times, even once before 7.30 in the morning so I just don’t bother answering anymore. Sadly, my old landline can only hold 5 blocked numbers and I’ve already filled that up!

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent who said his name was Ryan Martin and that he was ringing from Lloyds bank. He mentioned part of my account number and asked about a suspicious £800 payment. I told him I wasn’t sure about the transaction and that I’d end the call then ring the bank’s fraud team myself. As soon as I said that, he cut the line straight away!

Got a call from a woman claiming to be with Microsoft, saying my PC was linked to some sort of fraud and money laundering. I didn’t buy it and just ended the call. She called back straight away, sounding furious and insisting she could prove everything if I let her show me on my computer. After I cut off a second time, the phone buzzed again right away - this time I just let it ring out.

This number is seriously annoying. It calls me multiple times daily, and sometimes there’s just silence, other times a woman speaking with a really thick foreign accent that I can’t make out. I tried ringing the number back, but the voicemail is just as confusing with that same strange accent. She mentions something about ??? UK and says all agents are busy, so leave a message. But then when you do, you get told the mailbox is full! No clue what ??? means, and her accent is so hard to understand. Honestly, something should be done about this firm. It’s not fair that they keep ringing nonstop like that. From what I can see, Ofcom doesn’t seem to be doing anything useful about this at all.

Got a call from a guy claiming to be Logan from Microsoft Security. He went on about my Windows being at risk or something like that, but I wasn’t buying it. Before I could figure out what was going on, another voice asked if I was by my computer so they could "help" me fix it. I just ended the call right there. Then a couple minutes later, the same number called again but there was nothing but silence on the other end. I’ve already reported that first call to Action Fraud and honestly, I’d recommend anyone else do the same.

Today I got a call from someone who said his name was Steve, but his English was really poor and he had quite a strong foreign accent. He claimed my broadband had been hacked. I was at a mate's place when I answered and after I asked him a few easy questions, he just hung up. The funny thing is, the number he called didn't even have broadband connected to it. The number that showed up on my caller ID was 0161 241 7940. When I tried calling it back, there was some recorded message, but the accent was so thick I couldn't tell if it was English or another language. I'm convinced this is some kind of scam and you should watch out for it.

Just yesterday a woman rang with the same story, and I've been getting these calls frequently lately. But the worst is definitely those automated messages pretending to be from Amazon or Microsoft - so annoying!

Got a call on my home phone from 01612417940, the woman said she was from BT’s tech team and her name was Yasmin. I cut her off straight away and told her to stop cold calling me, said they had no right to my number as I never agreed to be contacted and mentioned GDPR laws. I warned that if they ring again, I’d consider legal steps. She just ended the call after that. Feels like some kind of scam to me.

I just joked that I was happy to share my connection for free, which seemed to annoy her quite a bit. She then accused me of lying.
