Some bloke claiming to be Tom Smith from Microsoft called me today, saying my data was hacked or something. I told him I'd pass it on to my "IT manager" (which is a lie, I don't have one) and then hung up. He's tried ringing me about four times since then, but there's no way I'm picking up. Not happening!

Just got a call from 0161 2417940 claiming to be BT about my internet, ringing me before 8:30 in the morning - no chance! The bloke on the line was Asian and somehow knew my name and address, like that was supposed to convince me or something. I ended up hanging up, but then he had the nerve to call back asking why I’d ended the call! I hung up again, hopefully that got the message across. Shame I was in a hurry, otherwise I would’ve loved to mess with this scammer and waste his time a bit.

Got a call claiming to be from BT about my internet acting up. I decided to humour him for a bit while he tried convincing me to open the run command on my PC. This number is quite the bother! It calls incessantly throughout the day, often leaving me bewildered. Sometimes there's just silence, and at other times, a woman speaks with a heavy foreign accent that I find utterly incomprehensible. I've attempted to return the call, only to encounter an answerphone message that's just as perplexing due to the same accent. She mentions something about it being ??? UK, claiming that all her agents are occupied and advises me to leave a message, but then I’m met with a prompt saying the mailbox is full! Honestly, I haven’t the faintest idea what ??? could refer to, as her pronunciation is quite dreadful. Isn’t it about time something was done regarding this company? It hardly seems fair that they can bombard people with calls like this. I get the impression that Ofcom is rather ineffective in dealing with such nuisances.

I received a rather dubious phone call from an Indian gentleman claiming to be called Logan, who said he was representing Microsoft Security. He spun quite the yarn about my Windows operating system being compromised. After listening to his nonsense for a bit, I decided enough was enough and ended the conversation, especially when someone else chimed in asking if I was in front of my computer to assist with 'securing' it. I received an unexpected call earlier today from someone named “Steve,” but honestly, his grasp of English was quite poor, and he had an unmistakably thick foreign accent. He claimed that my broadband had been compromised. When I posed a few straightforward questions, he abruptly said he was going to hang up, which he promptly did. I was at a mate’s place at the time I answered. He alleged that my broadband was under attack, yet the number he rang doesn’t even have broadband service. The caller ID showed 0161 241 7940. When I tried to ring the number back, I was greeted with a recorded message, but it was delivered in such a heavy accent that I struggled to discern whether it was English or another language entirely. It’s clear this number is part of some dodgy scam, and it poses a risk.
