Got a call from a recorded voice saying it was HMRC and that I needed to press one to speak to someone. I just ended the call straight away.

Initially, these blokes claimed they were representatives of the National Grid, and I learned through my provider Opus-who I hold a contract with-that my meter has been acting up and needed replacing. They assured me it would be at no cost to me, and then another chap came on the line to sort out a suitable date. I scheduled the appointment a couple of weeks in advance, giving myself time to verify everything with Opus. However, the same fellow called me back to discuss the meter contract, which struck me as rather odd, so I decided to end that conversation. Upon contacting Opus’s customer service, I was informed that the whole thing was quite the fabrication. Despite this, the bloke continued pestering me, claiming he was with Opus. I warned him that I'd be taking the matter to the police.

I've been receiving incessant calls from someone claiming to represent the UK power network, but his accent gives it away - he sounds Indian. It's absolutely relentless and I’m convinced it’s a scam. What a nuisance!

This number keeps ringing our takeout place loads of times every day, and even after telling them we don’t want anything, they just don’t stop. They say they’re from National Grid, trying to warn us about issues with gas and electricity, but it’s clearly a scam. We know it’s fake. Does anyone know a way to block this number? It’s tying up the phone so real customers can’t get through. I might have to get in touch with my network provider and see if they can block the calls.

Got a call from some scammer claiming they could lower my electricity charges. Proper pushy bloke, rang me twice within ten minutes! Told him straight if he didn’t stop bothering me, I'd have to get a bit rude. Bet they'll be calling non-stop now, just like usual.

Got a call from someone who sounded Indian, asking about my latest electricity bill payment. I was like, "What has that got to do with you?" Then I threw a question his way, asking if he was ringing from Munchies Pizza & Kebab House in Manchester. When he said no, I told him I wasn’t falling for any cunning scams and asked him nicely to buzz off before I ended the call. Haven’t heard from him since.

Had a call from some guy called Nicky Patel, said he was from UK Energy Service's Service Department. It was clearly one of those Indian cold call scams trying to get my info. I didn't fall for it and refused to share anything. Then he had the nerve to say I was wasting his time! Total scammers, honestly. Apparently, his boss is someone called Ariel Han - which sounds just as made up as his own name. Blocked the number straight away.

It’s worth noting that blocking such nuisances is essentially an additional service offered by my mobile provider, which leads one to wonder if these dubious calls are somehow being overlooked for profit. After all, it’s baffling how these shadowy companies manage to peddle their energy deals without revealing their identities, all while using suspicious numbers that even the Telephone Preference Service struggles to track down. I got a call from someone purporting to be with Opus Energy. I calmly explained that we’re perfectly satisfied with our existing energy provider. However, this chap insisted he could ‘extract us from our contract,’ despite my courteous refusals. Things took a rather unpleasant turn when he started cursing in Punjabi, which I'm familiar with. It's been two weeks of this relentless pestering, and I’m seriously contemplating reporting him for harassment. The utter lack of respect is unacceptable!

Just got a call from a really nice lady telling me she was contacted by a guy claiming to be from Haven Power, using this number. I told her that he’s not actually with them. Apparently the customer has already contacted Haven Power to report it. So if anyone else gets a ring from this number, just know it’s not someone from Haven Power and it’s best to block it.
