Phone number ☎️ 01612286197 👆 is reported as a persistent nuisance and scam caller, often claiming to handle PPI refunds with substantial payouts. Callers frequently demand upfront payments via MoneyGram to release supposed cheques, which never materialise. Many victims note rude, aggressive behaviour when challenged, including swearing and hanging up. The callers often provide false lender names and insist on courier deliveries requiring personal ID. Numerous reports indicate these calls target vulnerable individuals, including pensioners. Attempts to verify these claims usually reveal no legitimate association with banks or the Ombudsman. Callers may use foreign accents or appear linked to overseas call centres, and numbers are often unrecognised when returned. It is strongly advised to ignore such calls, avoid sharing personal or financial details, and report any suspicious activity to relevant fraud authorities.

Had a rather unpleasant encounter with a caller regarding PPI. I made it abundantly clear I wasn’t interested and told them to clear off. To my surprise, they rang me back within half a minute and launched into a tirade, telling me to shove it. Absolutely delightful, isn’t it? These nuisances really need to be curtailed. It’s baffling how some callers adopt ridiculous English names; I had the pleasure of speaking to someone who claimed to be Harry-more likely Hardeep if you ask me. It’s infuriating how they persist in dialling my number, which is supposed to be unlisted. Yet here we are, still bombarded by these pests.

Today, I received a call from this number. I told them I wasn’t keen and ended the conversation. They called back, so I suggested I pass the phone to my son so he could have a chat with them. After that, I hung up, and they haven’t tried to get in touch since.

Yet another bothersome call from this number came through today. Is there honestly no way to put an end to this?

My elderly dad, who's now retired, has been inundated with calls from this number, claiming they've got a cheque for £3,800 in PPI waiting for him. They've been insisting he pay £350 in cash via MoneyGram at the bank first. I just picked up the phone and told them they could take the £350 off the cheque before they send it over, and the chap on the other end, who sounded foreign, just abruptly hung up. Quite dodgy, if you ask me!

Got a call from an asian woman about a PPI thing, she mentioned Lloyds bank but i have never been with them. I told her it smelled fishy and said "buzz off" then hung up. She must have done the same cos the call ended there. Do these lot even make any money from these calls?

An Asian woman called me up claiming that there was a cheque under my name, number something silly like bla bla bla, for a whopping £3,857 linked to a loan from HSBC. I was taken aback since I couldn't recall ever taking out such a loan! Naturally, I inquired about the company she represented, and she mentioned it was the PPI Ombudsman. Apparently, a courier was set to drop off this magical cheque at my doorstep. She insisted I confirm the cheque number and a reference number she was eager to provide when the courier arrived. I mentioned to her that I'm not home too often, so I probed when I might expect the delivery. To my surprise, she handed me a customer service number to call, instructing me to quote the cheque number to sort out the delivery date. Perhaps I should give that number a ring and see where this rabbit hole leads!

I received a call from this number, but when I informed them that the person they were seeking was not here, they abruptly ended the conversation. Just moments later, I was plagued by yet another call from a rather suspicious number. How strange!

Got a call from an Asian woman claiming I'd been accepted for some PPI stuff. When she realised I wasn't buying it, she blurted out ‘ff##k you’ and then cut me off. I definitely didn't hold back before she ended the call.

I received a call regarding PPI, but I've dealt with this nonsense previously. I informed the caller that I would have the police on standby for their representative. Told them to shove off and promptly ended the call.

got called by some indian call centre like 4 times yesterday, they said mom had ppi claims or something and wanted her to send money via money gram first to get the ppi. smells like a total scam to me, taking advantage of a poor 72 year old! so dodgy.

It’s best to just disregard them entirely.

I've had a couple of phone calls from seemingly different individuals claiming to be handling a PPI refund of £3,057 that I'm supposedly owed by my bank. They mentioned a chap named Eric Martin, who insisted I needed to send £360 via MoneyGram to facilitate the release of this cheque. However, upon checking with both my bank and the Ombudsman Service, they were completely unaware of any such cheque. It's quite perplexing, to say the least, especially with someone claiming to be a legal accountant involved in PPI refunds. Has anyone else encountered this?

Once again, I’ve received an unwanted call from someone overseas claiming they can recover my PPI funds. I ended the conversation abruptly. It’s astonishing how these calls just keep coming, isn’t it?

I picked up and instantly knew it was a call centre from India. They started chatting about PPI claims. I just hung up, but they kept ringing me again and again, even shouting swear words at me over the phone. Such a nightmare!

I got a call about something to do with PPI from Legal and General, which we supposedly have. They asked if I’d be around at 3pm, and I said yes. Then the person said a courier would deliver a cheque for PPI related to a loan I supposedly took out in 2004. When I told them I’m not working and never took a loan, they just hung up straight away. The number was 01612286197.

Them: Is this James speaking? Me: What's your number? Them: Why do you want to know? Me: Well, she didn’t answer the call. Them: [***]. Then they just hung up! :)

There was this woman who kept ringing our home phone nonstop until my brother finally picked up. As soon as he heard what she was about, he knew it was a scam and just ended the call. But then that very same number kept blowing up our phone again and again. When I finally got the call, the woman on the line started shouting abuse at me before hanging up. It was really annoying and quite upsetting.

I received a call regarding a PPI claim, during which they insisted I pay £350 in advance to activate a potential claim of £3857. When I dared to ask a few questions, they became incredibly defensive and quite rude, even resorting to threats. Absolute scoundrels!

I was told I had almost £4,000 in PPI waiting for me. When I inquired who it was associated with, they mentioned Lloyds Bank. I was baffled, as I've never had an account there! They promised to give me a ring back in ten minutes, but surprise, surprise, that call never arrived.
