I've been getting calls like this for around five years now. At first, it would show up as a blocked number, but nowadays it pops up as 01612233581 or something close to that. They claim to be from “window technical services,” which doesn’t exist. Their aim is to trick you into letting them access your computer, and if you follow their instructions, they could steal your personal details and even drain your bank balance. Honestly, I’m shocked that nobody’s dealt with this sooner. From what I can tell, the calls probably originate in India but are passed through Manchester.

Looks like a total scam to me, they're probably using someone else's phone number. When I rang back, a woman answered and said it’s a scam. I bet she gets loads of calls from confused people! This number has buzzed me like 4 times over the past couple of days. I’ve blocked it now, think you should do that too.

Just got a call from someone pretending to be from tech support. They said my computer had viruses and tried to get me to let them fix it remotely. Sounded super dodgy to me, so I didn’t fall for it. Definitely looked like one of those fake cold calls trying to scam you. Be careful out there!
