I usually ignore calls from numbers I don’t recognise. Had a bunch of missed calls while I was busy at work during the week. Eventually, I called back just before 7pm and got through to an adviser from this company offering free debt advice. The person on the phone was really helpful, even called me back after hours just to help protect my credit. In the end, I didn’t have enough debt to be eligible for an IVA, but they still pointed me in the right direction for other help. Seems odd that they’re getting a bad name when all they’re trying to do is assist people.

I usually avoid picking up numbers I don’t recognise, even if they look like they’re from my area. If it’s important, they’ll leave a voicemail or find another way to reach out. Best thing is to block the number and not ring back, since sometimes that’s a trick to get you to pay for the callback.

this number has called me about 6 times and it's proper annoying, they won't even chat to me to tell them to stop ringing me.

It would have been rather courteous for them to recognise that I was forced to take a call whilst in the loo, eagerly awaiting a crucial update about the local shop having quilted Andrex back in stock. Quite the predicament, really!
