Got a missed call from this number earlier. I checked it out and apparently it’s linked to some bloke named Matthew running a Loft Insulation scam. Funny thing is, just yesterday we had a call from 01202080114 from someone with the same story, supposedly Matthew. Both numbers have been blocked straight away now.

Looks like it's that old loft insulation con again. He’s called me on three separate numbers already: 01608531007, 01304797305, and 01227943010. My phone shows no number, so I can’t block him straight away, but I managed to find out who it was by dialling 1471. Bit annoying!

I got a call from a guy claiming that my local council had put in loft insulation for me under some kind of special deal a while back, and that there might be damp problems up there now. That wasn’t true at all. He asked if he could pop round and check for damp in the loft, but I said no thanks. Once I refused, he just ended the call. He spoke very clearly and politely, so I can see how someone might easily be tricked into believing it was legit.
