A woman with a thick Indian subcontinent accent rang me claiming to be from BT Openreach, saying there was unusual activity on my broadband line. It was blatantly a scam, so I told her to get lost straight away! Afterwards, I got a couple of automated messages warning my internet would be disconnected in 24 hours for illegal use. I’m well aware these are dodgy calls, but I imagine they could really scare some people who aren’t so savvy.
