I totally agree, this was a clear scam. Someone rang me pretending to be from the Sky Technical Team, speaking really badly and asking about wifi security. They warned me that they’d turn off my wifi because it was supposedly causing problems on their servers. Then they threatened me, saying I was powerless and that I’d regret it. They kept saying I was nothing and couldn’t do anything about it. When I asked for their name, they said Kevin Root, but the accent was clearly Indian, so I reckon that name was fake. They also gave me a Sky ID: SKY0076358359 and told me they were from Sky’s Manchester technical department. It honestly made me feel quite anxious. If there was a way to report this properly, because these people can really mess up someone’s day or even manage to steal private info, that’d be helpful. I’m worried about the damage they could do.

This has got to be a total scam. I got a call from someone claiming to be from Sky’s tech support, but their manner was really off. They kept asking weird questions about my wifi security and threatening to cut off my service because they said my wifi was damaging their servers. The bloke was really rude, even said I was useless and there was nothing I could do about it. When I asked his name, he said Kevin Root, but his accent was definitely Indian - seems like he made that name up. He even gave me a Sky ID: SKY0076358359, and told me he was from Sky’s technical department in Manchester. Honestly, it’s upsetting how these scammers can just call out of nowhere and try to mess with your day, and sometimes they might even trick people into handing over private info. I wish there was some way to report these people so they stop causing this kind of stress.
