About 10 minutes back, my phone showed “International” on the caller ID. I didn’t pick up, and the person on the other end hung up right when my answer machine started. Sounds like these fraudsters are just generating any old numbers now, like the person before me said.

So, someone said they were calling from BT in London, but the number 01606 is actually from Northwich, Cheshire. And they wanted me to just sit by my computer... yeah, right. Luckily, I’m not daft enough to fall for that. What bugs me is there’s no other complaints about this number yet. Seems like these scammers can just pick any number to call from now. When I tried to check, the number came up as ‘not recognised’.
