I picked up the call but there was silence on the other end. Could this be some kinda scam? Should I be worried about anything dodgy going on?

Got a call from a number I didn’t recognise, and the person on the other end was speaking in a language I just couldn’t catch at all!

No one said who they were at first, so they never made it past my BT call screening. But then, a bit later, I got a call from a withheld number - some bloke called 'Derek' claiming to be from a seniors' centre in London. He was asking to speak to my 88-year-old landlady. It felt quite dodgy, like those calls where they say they can’t share info unless you’re family. Not sure if the two calls were linked or just a coincidence. Unfortunately, my phone doesn’t let me block private numbers, which is pretty frustrating.

This caller seemed like they were targeting older folks, pushing those personal neck alarms. Felt like they were fishing for cash and bank info, so I stayed cautious.

I picked up but just got silence on the other end, then a dead tone. Pretty sure it was one of those scammy calls you don’t want. The real risk is if you actually let them into your computer or give out your bank info - that’s when it gets nasty.
