They just said “hello” then cut off as soon as I started saying my number back to them. No other words or anything.

got a call on 26 july about 1:15 pm from a woman with an asian accent saying there was an issue with my bt line. i don't have bt btw.

someone rang me up saying they were from bt tech support, telling me that hackers had got into loads of internet accounts recently, mine included. but as soon as i mentioned i hadn’t been online for days, they just ended the call.
