Someone rang me pretending to be from BT, telling me my broadband had been hacked and my info stolen for fraud. The bloke sounded like he had a thick Indian accent and said his name was Adam. I had a feeling it was dodgy, so I told him I’d call BT on their official number and ended the call. Afterwards, I rang BT myself. A really helpful lady from their Newcastle centre confirmed it was a scam. Luckily, since I use call protect, she noted the number and banned it for me.
