I've had a call from Newlyn Plc recently, and just to clear things up, they're a proper Enforcement Agency working with more than 140 councils. It's definitely not a scam, so if they contact you, they've got a real reason behind it. They also have a welfare team that helps out people who might be in vulnerable situations, which is quite reassuring.

Got a letter sent to my grandson claiming he owed fees for using the MerseyFlow bridge nearly three years back. This definitely isn't some sort of scam. They're a debt collection agency called Newlyn, but their team can be really rude and patronising, showing zero understanding for folks who are having money problems. I received a call from a woman using the phone number 01604438533. She was looking for my ex-neighbour and asked for her by her first name. The caller said that my neighbour needed to call back urgently, but she provided the callback number, [01]604633001, very quickly. As I'm dyslexic, I had to listen to the number several times to make sure I got it correctly. Upon further investigation, I discovered that the number the woman called from has been associated with a scam. This raised suspicions for two reasons: a) she did not ask for the person by their surname, and b) she didn't mention the "01" at the beginning of the phone number that she wanted the call back on.

Greetings. It appears that Newlyn are indeed bailiffs, and their representatives are quite unpleasant and lacking in professionalism. We had no prior dealings with this establishment, yet a collector unexpectedly arrived, frightening our daughter, and left a letter regarding the removal of goods. Blimey! I recently received a couple of rather alarming text messages warning me about bailiffs arriving to seize our possessions. To be honest, I hadn’t a clue who these folks were! The moment I called outside of their business hours, I was met with a rather bland answerphone message. Quite audacious, if you ask me. The unfortunate lass in customer service bore the brunt of our less-than-charming attitude on the phone, but honestly, we've had our fill of their calls.
