7 yearsi got a call earlier today, and i played along pretending my computer was just starting up, keeping them chatting for about 20 minutes. i even joked about which window i should open, saying all my doors and windows were wide open now. even tho i actually work in cloud software, i acted like some old timer from the 90s. when they mentioned being based in central london, i threw some questions at them about who’s the mayor and which tennis event was happening at the moment. they couldn’t answer a single one. then finally the woman shouted “we want your money” and hung up on me.London7 yearsGot a robo call saying my internet’s gonna be cut off today, said it was from TalkTalk but I’m sure it was fake.TalkTalk7 yearsToday’s muppet number one for me. Just like others have said, claiming to be from bt openreach, going through the same old rubbish routine. Total waste of time.7 yearsGot a call from someone with an Indian accent claiming to be from BT Openreach, telling me to download some sketchy software to “boost” my broadband. The website looked completely amateur. Funny enough, my internet has been slow lately. When I said no, he threatened an engineer would show up within the hour. Turns out it’s definitely a scam!BTBT Openreach7 yearsSomeone rang up saying they were “Peter” from Openreach, telling me there were issues with my internet that needed fixing. He told me to “go ahead and switch it on your computer.” I asked him what exactly he meant by that, and he just repeated the same thing. When I pressed for a clearer answer, he just cut the call. Definitely sounded like a scammer to me.PeterOpenreach7 yearsGot a call from some bloke calling himself "Jones" who said he was from BT Openreach in London, but he rang from a Northampton number. He was banging on about problems with my broadband router even though I told him I don't even have BT broadband. When I pointed out that Openreach isn't even part of BT anymore, he got all defensive and insisted he wasn't after any card details or anything dodgy. Yeah, sure mate. I called him out as a scammer and he got proper narky. Ended up wasting about five minutes of his time, which made it quite amusing really.JonesBT OpenreachNorthamptonLondonBTOpenreach7 yearsI received a call from the number 01604403829 earlier today, on the 27th of June, 2019, around half past two in the afternoon. The caller claimed to be from Open Reach, and it was a woman speaking with an Indian accent. She said there was an issue with my landline that was supposedly affecting my internet service. Honestly, I could barely catch what she was saying due to her poor English and the terrible line quality. She asked for details regarding my internet connection, but I told her everything was working perfectly. Without so much as a farewell, she hung up rather abruptly. This is my first encounter with this particular number, but I've been inundated with scam calls lately - averaging one or two a day for the past week alone. I've been diligently reporting them as they come in. My neighbours have also mentioned that they are receiving a barrage of these fraudulent calls too. It appears that the South Wales region has been a target for these scammers in recent months.Open ReachSouth WalesSubmit Your Own Report (01604 403829)
