Got a call from someone who just wouldn’t take no for an answer, kept ringing until I picked up. Total cold call annoyance.

They rang me up saying they were required by law to inform everyone on the street about some work planned for just one house. They tried to sweeten the deal with a £500 voucher, then said the manager would ring back to pitch other services like moss removal or driveway fixes. Being on the TPS doesn’t stop them, they blatantly ignore the rules. Honestly, I wouldn’t trust these lot for a second.

Watch out for this Home Energy Company! They rang me up claiming they were doing some work nearby and were handing out vouchers as a kind of noise compensation. Then, they started asking loads of questions about the insulation in my house. Feels a bit dodgy to me.

Got a call from a home energy firm yesterday asking for a “survey.” Then today, the same number rings again offering a voucher for new windows. When I said I wasn’t interested and asked to talk to my husband (who had taken the survey by mistake), they actually accused me of being rude! My husband ended up hanging up on them. Since then, that number has called us a few more times but we haven't picked up. They claimed the telephone preference scheme is no longer in effect, which I know isn’t right. Quite annoying!

I began by asking a few questions about the house, then told the caller my number is on the TPS. He claimed the TPS was scrapped last year. I insisted my number is definitely still registered with TPS. After that, the guy got quite hostile and sounded angry. I said I’d report the number to TPS and he just ended the call.

Got a call last Wednesday from someone claiming to be doing an energy survey. They asked about things like moss on the roof and flat windows, and if I had any worries - which I didn’t - then just ended the call. Then, today, Thursday, another call came from someone saying they were the 'manager' wanting to chat more about the same stuff, pretty much repeating the questions I’d already answered. I told them once again I wasn’t concerned and eventually they gave up. With loads of jobs out there right now, it’s baffling why these young blokes don’t try for something more worthwhile. I’ve blocked the number now, fingers crossed they leave me alone.

On the 27th of August 2021, this number called my late mum's phone three different times. Obviously, there was no answer.

I had a lady ring me up asking if my house was energy efficient or something like that. She used the wrong name but had the right address - apparently it was the name of the person who used to live here before me. It was really tricky trying to finish the call because she kept pushing for info. Only after I managed to hang up did I realise she’d called my mobile, and even if it was an old landline number it still wouldn’t match the previous occupant’s details.
