I received a call today from someone looking for my mum, who sadly doesn’t reside here anymore. When I replied, asking who was on the line and suggested they get in touch with her at her current address, they abruptly cut the call. Quite peculiar, really!

They rang me up saying they were required by law to inform everyone on the street about some work planned for just one house. Being on the TPS doesn’t stop them, they blatantly ignore the rules. Honestly, I wouldn’t trust these lot for a second.

Watch out for this Home Energy Company! They rang me up claiming they were doing some work nearby and were handing out vouchers as a kind of noise compensation. Then, they started asking loads of questions about the insulation in my house. Feels a bit dodgy to me.

Got a call from a home energy firm yesterday asking for a “survey.” Then today, the same number rings again offering a voucher for new windows. When I said I wasn’t interested and asked to talk to my husband (who had taken the survey by mistake), they actually accused me of being rude! My husband ended up hanging up on them. Since then, that number has called us a few more times but we haven't picked up. They claimed the telephone preference scheme is no longer in effect, which I know isn’t right. Quite annoying!

I received a call on Wednesday from a chap who claimed he was conducting an energy evaluation. He probed about various topics, like the moss on my roof, my flat roofs, and my windows. He asked if I had any issues to share, but honestly, I didn't, so I ended the conversation there. Fast forward to today, Thursday, and I got another call, this time from his 'manager'. He wanted to see if I was interested in discussing matters in more depth, repeating a lot of what was covered yesterday. Once again, I reiterated that I had no qualms, and eventually he wrapped up the call. It’s astonishing that there are numerous job openings right now; why can’t these young lads find proper employment instead of pestering people like this? I've blocked the number, so fingers crossed I won't have to deal with them any longer.

I had an odd encounter with a woman who was inquiring about the energy efficiency of my house, or so she claimed. Interestingly, she used a name I didn’t recognise but managed to get my address spot on - apparently belonging to a previous owner, she said. It was quite the task to extricate myself from the conversation, as she was rather insistent on prising information out of me. It only dawned on me after I finally managed to end the call that she had phoned my mobile, and even if she'd tried the landline, the number wouldn’t have matched that of the previous owner either. Quite baffling, to say the least!
