I picked up the phone and no one said a word. I ended up blocking the number and looking it up here afterwards. Just so you know, the legit UK Telephone Preference Service goes by TPS, and their site is www.tpsonline.org.uk. If anyone says they’re a call blocking service but it’s not from that site, they’re either selling something for cash or it’s a total scam.

I got a call from someone claiming to be from the TPS, the so-called Do Not Call Register, but the accent sounded dodgy, like a call centre overseas. They tried to get me to verify the last digits of my credit card, clearly trying to nick my bank details. Definitely a scam.

I got a call from someone saying they were with the Telephone Preference Service. The voice sounded like it was from some call centre in India. They already knew stuff like my name and where I live, but then asked me to confirm numbers off my bank card. I said no way, and then they just cut the call.
