I received a rather unexpected call from someone purporting to be from the Local Conservation office, requesting that I fill out a complimentary survey about my roofing and insulation. I thought twice about it and opted out of participating. Subsequently, I’ve gone ahead and blocked this unwanted caller!

Got a call from someone claiming to be with Home Energy, offering a free loft insulation survey, saying fibreglass and mineral wool are out of date now. They said we might get a discount if we need the new Duratherm spray foam insulation. Booked a surveyor for Monday, and they said I’d get a call with the surveyor’s details and allocation number. Later, ‘Jessica’ rang me from 01603976975 saying her manager was tied up in meetings, so she’d call Monday morning at 9.30 with the info. Surveyor is due 10.30am Monday 25th Nov. Thinking of cancelling it ASAP.

Got a call from someone who was really polite yet pushy, trying to flog loft insulation. They said they were "just doing a survey" to dodge the no-cold-calling list. They promised a free inspection of my place and went on about how fibreglass insulation is now old-fashioned and useless. Complete nonsense. Total scam.

Later, I looked up energy advisors in Norwich but couldn’t see anything about NR1 at all. The guy sounded quite polite and convincing, so it could have been easy to get caught out. Good job I found this site to check the number first. I’m registered with TPS, so I was a bit suspicious it might be a scam.

Honestly, it’s best to just block it straightaway! Don’t bother picking up if it rings. Make sure to report it and tell your family and mates too. Blocking and reporting is the way to go because these scammers really shouldn’t be allowed to carry on. Please help stop this nonsense!!! Got a ring from this number just after some company called me about loft insulation (using an 01733 code). Complete nonsense. I mentioned I’m on the TPS and told them they’re actually against the rules.

Had a call from a quite insistent young lady asking about my loft insulation. I told her it’s already been sorted, but she went on to say the current insulation isn’t up to scratch anymore and tried to find out my age to check if I could get free replacement insulation. I said I’d check the details myself and ended the call. I’m not one to share personal details over the phone, especially with unexpected calls like that. I’m concerned that older folks might fall for this kind of stuff.
