I reckon if you surveyed the public, a staggering 80-90% would jump at the chance for such a simple option. Why on earth haven’t the telecom companies jumped on this? This number belongs to a business hired by charities to do fundraising calls. They aren’t scammers or anything dodgy, just working for firms contracted to handle this kind of work. Because of our gambling laws, they have to check if you’re over 16 since they usually promote lottery sign-ups. Try to be understanding - these people are earning a normal salary and it’s not an easy gig. It doesn’t hurt to politely but firmly say ‘no thanks’. Hope this clears things up :-)
