Got a call from a number claiming to be BT earlier. I told them I don’t use BT at all. They went on about how my number could be used in some sort of scam, but I just said, "Big deal." They ended up just hanging up on me.

The number showed up as possible spam on my phone so I didn’t pick up. Didn’t get any voicemail either when the answering machine started after a while.

Got a call from this number earlier and didn’t pick up. Later I checked it online and found out it’s probably a scam. They warn not to answer or share any personal information if they ring you. I ended up calling back by mistake, so fingers crossed I haven’t been hit with any crazy charges. Apart from a missed call and a bit of money lost on listening to their voicemail, I don’t think it’s caused any harm.

I picked up the phone, yet the voice on the other end didn't utter a single word.

I received a rather unexpected phone call from someone with an African accent who seemed to know my entire name. He claimed to represent some sort of appliance insurance company and then proceeded to ask me for my bank information. Quite dodgy!

It’s not a scam, but I got a cold call from an insurance broker trying to figure out when my policies expire. If you’re getting calls from this lot, it’s probably because you recently signed up somewhere else, and that company passed on your info to one of their third-party partners you didn’t say no to in the small print. So just watch out next time you sign up for anything online. πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘ I rated them as harassing because they just keep ringing over and over, sometimes loads of times a month, clearly trying to push either a sale now or down the line.

Got a call from +441603385567 on 4th June around 2pm GMT. It seemed like one of those dodgy spam or scam calls, all automated and weird. Definitely felt unsafe - I’d say block it straight away!

Got a call from someone claiming to be doing a survey. When I asked how they got my number, they said it was from some public database. Didn't trust it so I just ended the call and checked online, turns out it's a scam.

Got a call from an Asian woman claiming to be from Consumer First. She said she had just three quick questions to ask. However, she got my post-code wrong. When I refused to provide the correct one, she muttered something in a language I couldn’t understand and then just ended the call.

A guy with an African accent called, said his name was Thomas. He was asking about a survey on home appliances or something. I just told him I was too tied up and couldn't chat.

Definitely a SCAM. They started with that annoying “Can you hear me?” trick hoping I’d say “Yes.” and get caught.

My phone’s smart spam filter flagged this number so I don’t pick up, but it’s kept calling a few times during normal hours, not weird times like dawn or anything. Now I’ve just blocked the number since it’s clearly spam.

I recently came across Life Line Alarms for medical alert services. They seem to offer good protection and peace of mind in case of emergencies. Has anyone else used their medical alert system? Would like to hear if they’re reliable.

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent who already knew my last name, house number and postcode. She said she was calling from some company called UK Today. When I asked her which part of the UK she was calling from, she suddenly dropped the act and just ended the call. Definitely felt like a scam to me.

Got a call from some sort of appliance warranty company wanting my bank info so they can put a direct debit in place. Feels a bit dodgy to me.

I tried ringing back the number they used. After a short silence, they just dropped the call. When I dialled again, an automated voice came on saying something about Lifeline alarms for medical pendants. It asked me to press 1 if I didn’t want any more calls or press 2 to talk to someone. I didn't bother, I just hit Block straight away!

Got a call saying my appliance insurance was about to expire and they wanted me to renew it. Told them I didn’t have any appliances insured, so I wasn’t interested. Pretty sure they’d have tried to get my bank info if I hadn’t cut the call. Just a typical scam, really.

Got a call at 5:45, which is definitely outside of office hours. I didn’t pick up, and they didn’t bother to leave a voicemail. Just another irritating phone ring.

Nothing dodgy going on here. I usually ignore calls from numbers I don’t have saved. This company rang me up on a bank holiday around 6 in the evening - pretty late and when most people are probably out or busy. They didn’t leave any voicemail, and their name and location (mentioned earlier but I can’t recall now) didn’t ring any bells. If they ring back and it’s the same deal, I’ll just block them.
