Got calls from a mystery number yesterday and today (23 July 2019). The phone just rings straight to voicemail (we keep an ear out because of annoying calls) and then they just hang up.

Green Allowance called me, but I cut her off before she could say her spiel, told her I’m signed up with the TPS. She just said "I’m not sure how I managed to get through" and then ended the call. Also, last week I got calls from this number saying they were from First Home Improvements, used to be Debbage and Tubby.

Got a recorded call saying it was TalkTalk, warning me my internet and phone would be cut off. It asked me to press 1 to chat with an engineer or 2 to keep going.

Got a call asking if I was ‘Mrs X’ - apparently the previous resident here. As soon as I said no, the bloke launched into this spiel about my windows and fascias. Even after I said I wasn’t interested, he just ignored me and carried on blathering. I had to cut across and say if I ever want new fascias done, I’ll sort my own installer, cheers very much. Then he goes on about not getting paid for me to find my own firm and just hung up. Blocked him straight away. Only picked up cos it was a local number! Watch out for this one.

If BT shows that number when you check on 1471, how can it be not real? The call came from that exact number and BT confirmed it on 1471. So if BT knows about it and it’s on their lines, it can't be fake. BT surely holds logs of that number somewhere. If it was fake, how does it even work within their system? Maybe we’re just all Trump supporters getting bugged by some crazy left-wingers?

Had this pushy sales lady ringing me, harping on about the age of my windows. Told her flat out yesterday to quit cold calling and take me off her list. Guess what? She called again today, so I just blocked the number. How daft can these scammers be, seriously?

Got a random call from a bloke claiming he was with First Home Improvements in Norwich (used to be called Tubbys, I think) asking if I qualified for free home repairs, then wanted to know the age of my windows. I told him he shouldn’t be ringing me because of GDPR rules, and he immediately ended the call, saying they have a legal team and follow the law properly.

Got a call from a woman who just said hello then ended the call. Tried to look up the number but it said it wasn’t recognised.

They claimed it had to do with some green energy grant. I asked how they got my phone number (considerin’ GDPR and all that) and they told me it was from when I supposedly entered details about my gas or electric bills. That’s rubbish, coz I never did any of that. I reckon they’re scammers ‘cos when I tried callin’ back, both numbers showed up as invalid. A legit company would definitely have someone pickin’ up the phone!

Got called again just after a couple of weeks. Woman on the line. She keeps asking the same thing - "Am I speaking to Mr Brooks?" then throws out a postcode that’s defo not mine. When I asked where she got my number from, she said "It just showed up on my screen." The company she said was Green Allowance. I’ve had these lot ringing me loads before, then they went quiet for a bit, but now they're back. My number's on the TPS list, but they clearly don’t give a toss.

Received a call from 01603 357240. Normally I don’t pick up these days and just let it go to voicemail, but I was actually expecting someone. I said hello and the lady on the other end asked, “Is that Mrs Hook?” which is a line I’ve heard a few times with similar calls. They always seem to ask for Mrs Hook. Then she asked if I was in Baconsthorpe and I told her “No, that’s nowhere near here.” She hung up after that. No clue what she was after or trying to sell - just annoying and pointless. Thought I’d report it here.
