Got a call from some scammer pretending to be updating warranty for kitchen appliances. Totally obvious it was a con, aimed at tricking older folks out of their money. Feels awful that the police don’t seem interested in chasing these types. Just hope something bad happens to these crooks and karma does its thing for everyone they’ve fooled.

This morning I got a call on the landline from someone who already knew my last name and asked for me by name. They said they were from some home improvement firm (didn't catch the entire name) and wanted to know if I was looking for new windows. I told them no thanks, but the person kept pushing, asking if I might consider it later since they have fitters nearby now. I nicely said no again, but they wouldn’t drop it, so I just said thanks and hung up. We've since blocked that number from calling us back.

I got a call from a polite woman who already knew my name and where I lived. She told me someone said I had fibre glass insulation put in my loft a while back. I told her that wasn’t true at all as we never had any fibre glass installed up there. After that, she just ended the call. Don’t really know if it was legit or some sort of scam.

Got a call supposedly from Warmer Homes based in Dorchester but they were sneaky, showing a Norwich number on my phone instead. They said they were wrapping up some jobs nearby and wanted to check if I needed anything done like insulation or new windows. When I asked where they’d got my details from, they were clueless. I couldn’t catch the company name, but a young lady told me they were working on windows for a house nearby. She then started going on about how great my neighbours are and how awful one of hers was. She asked when I last had my windows done, and I said I didn’t really recall and wasn’t planning any renovations. After she said thanks, I ended the call. Got a call from Vision Homes, my call screening flagged it as an announced number. They asked if I owned the place, and when I said it was a rental, they quickly ended the call saying they couldn’t help me.
