Today I've had a load of cheeky calls out of nowhere, which is odd since it’s been ages since anyone rang. This latest one just hung up right when it hit my voicemail, which was proper annoying given it was my bloody teatime. I’m gonna lodge a complaint with TPS and Ofcom for sure.

Got a call from 01603242286 claiming to be Vision Homes South. The bloke was polite but kept pushing, saying they’d installed fibreglass insulation in our loft around 14 years ago. I told him no, we actually did it ourselves. Then he started saying we could save on energy bills by putting in new fibreglass insulation. I said we didn’t need it, but he kept going on about not wanting to save money. Asked him to stop and hang up, but he just carried on, so I cut the call. Looked up the number afterwards, saw similar complaints, so I’m definitely blocking it now.

Got a call from a bloke claiming he was at my place, said he’d come inside to check the gas meter. The funny thing is, the meter's outside right by the front door - no need for him to step in at all!

I was just stepping back in from the garden when my phone rang, a lady's voice came on at first but then she hung up straight away as soon as I picked up. Honestly, I find calls like this pretty annoying and think that both the phone providers and the regulatory bodies really ought to step up and do more to prevent these sorts of pestering marketing calls.

I got a call from a bloke with a strong Scottish accent claiming to be from some government department. He started banging on about how energy prices are changing and asked if I'd watched the news on it. When I questioned him, he just cut me off straight away. Seems like a total scam to me!

They were just a business offering eco-friendly insulation, nothing dodgy going on. We got a security call beforehand so felt pretty safe about it. The whole thing only took about half an hour, they gave us a free estimate and then left without any hassle. No scam at all.

I received a call from someone who inquired about a name that wasn’t mine. It was quite amusing to hear her reaction upon realising she had dialled incorrectly! She carried on chatting, poking fun at her unfortunate day and the mix-up, which was quite charming in a way. Then, out of the blue, she segued into a pitch about replacement windows. Clearly, just another one of those unsolicited calls, but she was making an effort to come across as more personable!

Before I could get a proper answer, I asked what exactly the 'Energy Advisory Service' was, and then the line just went dead. Strange!

Some bloke rang me saying he'd got my details from the ICO and claimed he was from Vision Homes. When I asked him to send me something by email, he said that wasn't doable. I told him I wasn't interested. Thing is, my number’s ex-directory and I’m registered with TPS, so how on earth would the ICO have my details? I'm going to report this to both the ICO and TPS. I can’t stand these annoying cold calls and the constant hassling.

He first called chatting about some job he’d supposedly done - I reckoned it was a scam right away. Then later, he rang me again but this time from a different number.

Got a call from a call centre today using my old name, which I changed over 16 years ago! I just ended the call straight away.

Got a call from a polite young bloke who started chatting about the insulation in my house - claimed I’d had some done a while back. He then said the fibreglass and another material weren't really up to scratch anymore, mentioned some new government programme offering better-rated stuff. He was suggesting I get this [NAMED] spray applied beneath the floor tiles or something like that, saying it could knock £30-40 off my yearly bills. That’s when I decided to end the call.
