I was going through my elderly mum’s phone bill to pay it and noticed she’s been hit with some 15p charges. She insists she didn’t pick up or press anything, but there they are. There’s a couple of numbers from London and Liverpool too, all charging the same amount. This definitely looks dodgy, so I’m gonna block them. Just wondering how many more charges like this are sneaking in unnoticed!

I saw the number 01603217466 pop up a couple of times on my phone. It showed Norwich, but weirdly it also popped up as an international call, so I just ignored it and didn’t pick up.

After reading what others had to say, I went ahead and blacklisted the number, though Call Guardian had already blocked it for me.

Someone called but hung up just before my answerphone kicked in, so I couldn’t pick it up in time and have no clue who it was. The weird bit was my caller ID showing it as International, but right underneath it displayed a Norwich number. Since scammers these days can spoof pretty much any BT number they want, that’s probably what’s happening here. I’ll put it down as annoying as I’m almost sure it’s just another scam call.

I’ve got a cordless phone with a one-line screen, and it just lit up with the word “International” when this Norwich number came up. My other phone, with two lines on its display, showed the number on top and “International” beneath it. That made me suspicious, so I didn’t answer and hit block straight away. Seems like a dodgy call, probably scammers faking or recycling BT numbers. Bit confusing since I actually know some people in Norwich, but seeing “International” on the screen gave it away.

I just got a call from a woman with the most irritating way of saying 'how are today'. I couldn't take it and ended up just hanging up.

Received an unexpected silent call today. Thought I’d return the favour, only to be greeted by a recorded voice stating that all calls are recorded for training and quality assurance. Strangely enough, they didn’t bother to clarify their identity! I was then directed to some 'My Orders' section on a website, but again, no mention of who they represented or their website link! It’s quite clear this is a dodgy operation, especially since I haven’t placed any orders with anyone recently.

Got a call just before noon, around 11:57, from a number linked to a plant specialist in Norwich - someone I’d never come across before. When I rang back, the person on the other end explained that their number was being spoofed by scammers making bogus calls, and it wasn’t actually their firm calling me. It felt a bit odd that when I answered the original call, no company name was mentioned. Plus, the woman I chatted with insisted it wouldn’t happen again, but if scammers are involved, how could she possibly guarantee they won’t use the number again? Seemed a bit fishy to me.
