Glad to share some good news - the company run by Ben Winchester and Andrew Kissick had their licence taken away just yesterday. BBC had an interesting piece about it. This Swansea-based outfit, Falcon & Pointer Ltd, made nearly 40 million annoying calls in only three months using auto dialling tech, pushing claims about mis-sold PPI. Last week, this number got at least three calls from Falcon and Pointer about PPI, all just automated messages. One time, the ringing woke my poorly baby who I’d spent ages trying to calm down. I’ve been on the TPS list for yonks and never agreed to anyone passing on my details. Falcon and Pointer and the people running it should be checking TPS before ringing anyone in the UK, but they obviously don’t bother. So, what's the deal with the law? Basically, firms or groups that use auto-calls for marketing need to get your okay first, otherwise it's not allowed. If you're getting these robo marketing calls without agreeing to them, you can take action by reporting to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). They're the ones in charge of making sure these rules are followed. Just search ''complaint ICO'' on Google and you'll find a simple form to fill in. The more folks that report, the stronger the impact.

Just to clear things up, Falcon & Pointer can legally ring you if you haven’t signed up to TPS for more than 28 days. But if you’ve been on TPS longer than that, then they’re breaking the law and could be fined up to half a million quid.

If it wasn’t a scam they wouldn’t be blowing up phones all day long. And what’s the point of pressing 9 to opt-out when it clearly doesn’t work? You have to REPORT each and every call to the ICO. The more complaints they get, the more likely they are to do something about it. Keep reporting!

I've been getting calls from 01600469009 for the past few days and they just won't stop. TPS doesn't do anything about these recorded messages, which is why so many firms are going down that route now. Honestly, the rules need updating to cover recorded calls as well as live ones.

Today I got a couple more calls again, which is really annoying. I’ve already reported it to the ICO and even rang Falcon and Pointer on 0300 404 29841 to ask them to stop ringing me. They told me my number came from Clarity and apparently they’re allowed to call. They said it’ll take about 48 hours to remove me from their list. If I want to make a complaint, they told me to email [email protected].

Got a recorded call today saying it was from Falcon & Pointer. Actually got two of these annoying calls. I've sent a couple of emails complaining to the company, also flagged it to the ICO and dropped a message to the Claims Management Regulator they list on their site. Not sure if any of that will sort it, but if it keeps happening, might as well charge them for the hassle. £50? Maybe £100? I work from home, so every minute counts.
