The initial call was purporting to be from O2, claiming they were giving a false 40% discount on airtime. Well, given that I’m employed by O2, I can spot a scam from a mile away. The follow-up was supposedly from PC World. I’ve made sure to report both dubious calls to Action Fraud and have since blocked those numbers.

It seems as though this number is masquerading as O2.

I received a call from someone who had a bit of a foreign accent and didn’t speak very clearly. It sounded as though she was claiming to be from Carphone Warehouse. Oddly enough, she couldn’t even tell me my own name! I requested that she take my number off her list.

I received a call, picked it up, and then it just cut off!

I've received multiple messages claiming to be from O2, my mobile service provider, which I highly suspect is a scam. This person insisted that they had sent me a code three times and wanted me to pass it on to secure a 40% discount on my account. He carried on for about six minutes before I suggested he reach out to me via email, even though I hadn’t shared any of my information with him. Now I seem to have been blocked by this number entirely!

My phone has this nifty feature that flags potential scam numbers without any messages being left behind. If anyone tries to pester me with a dodgy call, it lets me know to just ignore it!
