I got a call from someone claiming to be from Openreach’s tech team, saying they were doing some work nearby and wanted to know how many lights were on our hub. When I asked for the last three digits of our phone account number to confirm, he just gave me the second half of our postcode instead! I called him out, saying he wasn’t really an engineer and couldn’t see our account info. I kept telling him I didn’t trust what he was saying, and in the end, I just hung up on him.
