Somebody pretending to be from Amazon rang my mum, who’s 91, trying to convince her she owed £195 for a Prime membership she’d stopped after a free trial. While chatting, they kept asking about her bank details, whether she used PayPal, passwords, and even tried to find out about her computer and laptop. The caller wanted her to write a letter confirming she’d cancelled Prime, which they said would be signed - a clever trick to get her signature! Proper shady, made me really annoyed! 😠
