Not much different from the usual - the caller insisted that my BT broadband security had been breached! Ironically, I used to work in IT before hanging up my boots, so I'm fully aware that it's not as they say. From what I've gathered, Redcentric seems to be a reputable company based either in Cambridge or Harrogate, rather than the remote Lybster in Caithness. Best to stay vigilant!

I received a phone call from someone with a foreign accent who insisted they were a BT technician. They were quite pushy, asking for personal details about the account holder and every device linked to the broadband. The caller was rather convincing, trying to persuade me by stating that BT controls all landlines, regardless of whether or not you’re actually a BT customer. Quite a cheeky tactic, if you ask me!
