I received yet another call from a number that isn’t saved in my contacts. As soon as my voicemail picked up, they hung up. If it were a legitimate caller, they would’ve bothered to leave a message. It’s high time I invested in a voicemail system with caller ID to weed out these pesky scammers!

I got a call from a woman with an Asian accent claiming to be from BT, telling me my broadband bill was overdue and I’d be cut off soon. I told her to wait a moment while I put my hearing aids in (which I don’t even have). Then I blew a really loud whistle into the phone, and she hung up straight away. After that, I blocked the number. This is the ninth time this week I've had similar calls, all different numbers but the same story about needing bank details. They always seem to be Asian women. Total scams, so watch out. They must think we're daft for even entertaining their nonsense.

Got a call from someone claiming there was a problem with my Sky internet. I told them to wait while I grabbed my bank card and asked how much they were trying to scam me for 😡. As soon as I said that, they just ended the call. Honestly, never give out your details over the phone. If you think something’s up, always hang up and call the company’s official number yourself to be sure it’s legit.

On 16/10/2023, I got a call that went straight to voicemail. No message left, but I could hear a lot of background noise like it was from a busy office.

Got a call from some Asian guy saying he was from Microsoft, telling me my PC was hacked or something. When I started questioning him, he nearly yelled at me over the phone. He first rang me on a mobile number, then just a couple minutes later buzzed me again from a landline.

My landline got a call from this number earlier, and the person on the other end was going on about some issue with our computer or something. My wife picked up but she’s not into tech stuff at all, so she just hung up right away.

Claimed to be from BT’s tech division. The voice was distinctly foreign. I responded with a playful, “Oh really? Do enlighten me!” At that point, she just hung up.

01592 780827 called me early on a Saturday, about 8:50am, from what seems to be a Kirkcaldy landline. A guy with a South Asian accent answered and said his name was David. I didn’t let him get far before I hung up and searched the number here. Loads of folks have reported this number - definitely a scam. Honestly, I wonder how they live with themselves, ringing people like that so early on weekends!

After a pause typical of call centres, a voice with an Indian sub-continent accent picked up, with other voices faintly heard like in a busy support centre. The person said they were from BT Technical Support and had spotted some suspicious activity on my account. When I replied 'I doubt that,' the line was disconnected straight away. Definitely a scam.

I received a rather dubious phone call from someone claiming to be with Microsoft, insisting that my computer had been hacked-apparently, by someone engaging in unsavoury online activities and having an eye on my bank details. When I confronted them about the obvious scam they were trying to pull, their response was rather colourful, as they resorted to name-calling, hurling insults at me. Quite uncalled for, if you ask me!
