For those saying it’s a scam, don’t forget lots of numbers get reused or the contact info hasn’t been refreshed properly. Also, you could be the last known relative of someone who’s died with no other next of kin, or share a similar name. Social workers really try hard to find family before they step in as next of kin.

Shortly after, a chap named "Dave Cronin" said he was on the line. No idea who that is, so I kindly clarified that he must have the wrong number. I’ve been inundated with a plethora of fraudulent calls lately-often refusing to answer unless I've vetted the number first. It’s become quite the nuisance, with sometimes as many as 12 incessant calls flooding in each day, starting as early as 9am and continuing until nearly 9.30 in the evening. Sundays offer no reprieve, either; it’s relentless! Thankfully, most of these unwelcome interruptions come through my landline. However, the fact that my mobile number has now become a target is somewhat alarming.
