Got a call from some call centre in India saying they were from my life insurance firm - they knew my name but wouldn't tell me how they got my phone number.

Received a couple of calls from this number. There was a lot of background noise, almost as if I was connected to a bustling call centre filled with chatter. Each time, I didn't get a word in before the line went dead, so I decided to hang up both times. I've now added them to my block list.

Said she was from AIG/Sun Alliance, began by asking if I had life insurance and trustee cover (which I’ve just sorted with NFU/AIG so seemed weird!) When I said yes, she said she was calling to ‘review’ my policy. I told her I only took it out about ten days ago, and she just said alright, thanks, goodbye. Pretty suspicious and strange!

Received an unexpected phone call out of the blue.

They rang saying they were handling my wife’s payment plan and tried hard to squeeze info from her about some ‘policy review’. She was well cautious, refused to give any details because I’d warned her about these scams and how dodgy they get trying to get your money or data. Even while she was wary, she asked what policy they meant since she’s got a couple, and they couldn't give a clear answer. They kept pressing for info, saying it was just to check she was on the best plan, but after a few mins of pushing, they just hung up. I later found out this number has been reported on here too, so I trusted my gut early on that it was dodgy. They did know her first name and gave the caller name as Mandy, which made it even creepier. Blocked and reported straight away.

Heard a woman with an accent and all the typical call centre noise in the back, she claimed to be from some life insurance bit. Told her I haven’t got any of that, then she just said goodbye. Pretty sure it’s a scam, my phone displayed a Lymington number. Best just ignore these calls.
