Over the past day, I’ve had about seven calls from folks with what sounds like Indian accents, pretending to be from BT Openreach. They keep telling me my router's throwing error alerts and ask me to use the win+r shortcut to run certain commands. Honestly, even if those commands seem harmless, no legitimate company - especially one named “Windows” - is going to ring you up about a virus. It’s almost certainly a scammer trying to trick you into believing your PC is infected or malfunctioning. Stay wary!

over the past day, i've gotten about 5 calls from this number and some others that look alike. when i pick up, there’s silence for a moment before some guy with an indian accent says he’s from bt openreach. once i told him i didn’t even have internet, and he just hung up straight away. other times, he said there were issues with my connection and tried to get me to pay to fix it. totally dodgy, clearly a scam.
