Got a robocall saying my BT broadband would be cut off in 3 days. Since I've been with BT nearly 40 years, I decided to humour them and hit '1' to chat. The guy on the line barely spoke English properly and claimed some Nigerian hackers had messed with my computer, saying he needed to remotely access it. I asked for his BT employee ID number - he was clueless. Then I tried asking who the BT chairman was - he didn’t know. I quizzed him on the difference between BT and Openreach - still nada. Finally, I asked if this was his only job, or if he had anything else apart from tricking folks and trying to hack their computers. That’s when he abruptly ended the call.
