Got a call from someone pretending to be with Microsoft Teams. They said my computer was supposedly sending out weird messages and might be infected with a virus. I called them out for being a scammer, and after that, they just said alright and hung up. Total nonsense!

This bloke was really pushy, ringing me like 9 times in a row, and every time he called, he sounded even more hostile. Claimed he was with Windows and warned my computer would crash if I didn’t enter some strange codes he gave me. I’ve gone ahead and reported the number to Action Fraud now.

Got a call from someone called "David" earlier today (28 April). He started with the typical story about my computer sending out weird messages for a couple of weeks, saying it’s infected or something like that. I told him I needed to check with my IT guy first and asked for a callback number. Unsurprisingly, he hung up right after. From what I’ve heard about these sorts of calls, I’m definitely marking it as dangerous and dodgy.

Got another call from 01582583927 today, said it was "Windows" on the line. This lady kept telling me they’ve rung me loads, saying my computer’s been hacked and it’s really dangerous. She wanted me to note down some ID and let her get into my PC to sort it out. I’ve contacted the TPS, but since the calls come from overseas, there’s not much they can do. So I rang Citizen Advice on 0345 404 0406 and they said they’d pass it on to Trading Standards.

Today on Easter Monday, I got two calls back to back like a few others here. Seriously, why isn’t the TPS doing its job? It’s so annoying, and I don’t want to have to fork out money for BT’s call blocker. How can these calls be stopped without spending extra cash?

This bloke has called me like six times today! Each time it’s the same guy, but he’s pretending to be from loads of different places - first BT, then Microsoft, Virgin tech support, and then back to BT again. He keeps changing his name, but it’s definitely the same fella, speaks with a thick Indian accent, but tries really hard to sound Scottish. He was going on about some virus on my computer. On the last call, he got super pushy, demanding my card info. I told him to get lost. I’ve just switched my answerphone on now.

Been getting calls from the same bloke about 6 times today. He pretended to be from loads of places - BT, Virgin, Microsoft, even Windows tech support - but it was always the same guy, sounded Indian but was trying to do a Scottish accent, which was a bit obvious. I got a call from 01582583927, an international number, with a man who said he was from Microsoft tech support. He had a strong Indian accent and called himself Sam. He told me they’d sent some updates and I hadn’t replied, then asked me to read out what he said was my licence number. Suddenly, the line went dead. Shortly after, he phoned back and said sorry for the dropped call, then tried getting me to press Ctrl and the Windows key, asking what was on my screen. Realising it was a total scam, I just stalled by talking rubbish until he gave up and hung up. Classic rip-off attempt!

I’m really fed up with all these fake calls I’ve been getting. I look after my 96 year old mum, and luckily her mind’s still pretty sharp, but if it wasn’t, imagine what trouble these scammers could cause by ringing up saying there’s a problem with Windows on our computer. They try to get you to give away info that could lead to loads of stress and expensive consequences. Surely the police or some other agency could step in and deal with these con artists? This number gave me a call earlier today, and I've now blocked it on my phone. Just like other folks mentioned, the guy on the line had a really strong foreign accent and got quite frustrated with me when I wasn't keen on following his instructions. He was pretty annoyed when I said I couldn't sit in front of my PC while he walked me through things. He kept going on about needing to fix something before 2.30pm because apparently Windows would lock my account, and then he wouldn’t be able to assist anymore. I let him ramble on for a bit while I stayed completely stubborn. Eventually, I pushed him to give me his name and a contact number. After some more pressure to comply, he ended up giving a totally different phone number to the one I used to block him after the call. He said his name was Sam Wilson, sounded quite English at least.

This is the third time they've rung me today. Finally managed to pick up on the first ring but there was no one on the other end. Tried calling the number back but it’s unreachable. If they bother calling again, I’m thinking of asking them to pay me for the time they’ve wasted and maybe a refund for the awful, glitchy software they're using. Usually when I say that, they just hang up straight away. Also, telling them I’ve been waiting for their call seems to do the trick too.

About ten minutes ago, I got a call from a bloke with a strong foreign accent, who strangely already knew my name - which freaked me out a bit. He started going on about some issue with my computer, saying there was a virus they could get rid of if I logged in and let them help. When I questioned how he had all this info, he claimed my details were on some kind of Microsoft list for tech support. I couldn’t resist telling him I sold that computer last July. Then he sounded doubtful, asking if I was really sure, and even wanted to know who the new owner was!
