I got a call from someone claiming to be from Sky saying there was a problem with my broadband and asked me to download some software on my laptop to fix it. I rang Sky directly afterwards and they said they hadn’t tried to get in touch with me at all.

Someone claiming to be from TalkTalk nearly convinced me to install a remote access app so they could control my computer from afar. When I checked with TalkTalk, they told me they had no record of anyone reaching out to me.
