I just got a call from a woman asking about the insulation in my house, saying there's a much better option now. She kept saying she wasn’t trying to sell anything, so I replied, “That's good, cos I’m not buying anything.” She went on about not selling, but I told her I’ve had this kind of call loads of times and that I wasn’t interested. Then I ended the call.

They said they'd take me off their list but I doubt it. When they ring back - probably tomorrow since they always call a few times - I’m ready with my own reply now.

Got a call from these lot a couple of days back, saying their system showed I’d had my home insulated and it needed replacing. This time they said they were from the Watford conservation trust, but that seems dodgy as I’ve read they sometimes pretend to be the Luton conservation trust, if that’s even a real thing. Definitely a scam, watch out. I just ended it politely and hung up, but really annoyed with myself for being so civil.

They claimed to be working in our postcode area and said some types of loft insulation, like Rockwool or Fiberglass, might be dangerous. They asked if we had these and said some age groups could get a replacement. They wanted to send someone to inspect our loft. My husband asked if there’d be a charge, and they said yes but part would be covered by a subsidy. They said the replacement was a kind of foam sprayed insulation. The caller wouldn’t share the company name or any proper info. Very dodgy!

He said his name was John and that he worked as a conservation officer - but a proper officer wouldn’t just give a first name, he’d say his full name. He then asked if we lived in a postcode we moved away from almost a decade ago, so clearly he was using some outdated list with my husband’s surname on it. He also asked if I was Mrs X. When I told him we no longer lived there, he blamed a computer glitch and kindly ended the call. Sounds like scammers ignoring GDPR and TPS rules, targeting certain locations deliberately.

02/09/2019 16:02 - Got a weird silent call from this number while at home, then it just hung up on me. Just so you know, you can’t dial this full number from Bedfordshire since 01582 covers Harpenden, Luton, and Dunstable; after the area code, the ‘155’ bit routes you to the international operator. Tried calling it on Skype (which isn’t perfect) and it said the number’s not in use. Maybe it’s some kind of unlisted service number since usually those start with a 1.

This call came through at half past four on 29th August 2019, I didn’t pick up. When I looked it up on ‘Who Rang Me’, I saw someone else had already left a comment about this number. I'm a bit iffy about this call. They kept asking for a person I've never heard of. When I said no one by that name lived here, they tried confirming the address, but it wasn't mine. Then came the question about whether I lived in a certain postcode, which I don't. After that, they wanted my postcode area, and I asked why I'd share that with a stranger. They said sorry and began explaining who they were, but then just hung up out of the blue. Honestly, I reckon calls like this aren't to be trusted and you should be careful.
