I've had calls from these lot three times already today, saying I owe money and can't handle my debts. That's total rubbish - I don’t have any financial issues, just two car loans which are paid promptly every month by direct debit. The last caller said they got my info from the government to “help” me and even knew where I live. When I asked who to speak to about a privacy complaint under GDPR, the bloke refused to tell me, citing data protection. Sounds like a massive scam to me.

got a call from someone claiming to be a debt collector, called me twice within a minute or so. when i asked what they wanted, they were quite rude about it.
