Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent who called me by my first name. She claimed to be from some company called Beneficial and said they’d tried to reach me a few days ago, but I was too busy at the time and asked them to ring back - which is total rubbish. When I asked who Beneficial even were, she just went on and on saying she wouldn’t take much of my time and that I had an unpaid debt she wanted to clear up. I told her to get lost straight away and hung up because I don’t owe anyone anything!

I noticed a missed call on my phone, so I decided to ring back. But as soon as someone picked up, the call ended abruptly.

I received a call from a bloke who mentioned my house number was 1 and that my postcode was also incorrect, which definitely wasn’t the case. When I denied it, he went on to ask if I owned the property, whether I lived alone or with family, and even my age! I firmly told him, "If this is a scam, I'll be reporting it to the authorities," to which he insisted he wasn’t trying to sell me anything. However, he then proceeded to inquire about the type of washing machine I use! At that point, I made it clear I was feeling quite uneasy about the conversation and decided to hang up.
