Just received a call about ten minutes back from someone purporting to be from the Microsoft technical support team. They insisted that my computer was severely infected with viruses and at serious risk of being compromised. They requested remote access to my device and promised to rectify the issues. Honestly, it struck me as a bit dodgy!

I've been bombarded with numerous unwanted calls over the last few days.

I got a call from a woman with a really thick Asian accent saying she was from Microsoft’s Fraud Department. She wanted me to "verify my information," so I said "sure, go on" and just stayed quiet. After a short pause, she repeated her request, and I told her that before I could confirm anything, she’d have to explain exactly what she wanted me to confirm. I even mentioned how surprised I was she worked in Microsoft’s Fraud Department if she didn’t get that. Weirdly, she just ended the call right there!

I could hardly catch what they were saying, but it had something to do with my IP address!

Someone phoned pretending to be from Microsoft, saying my husband’s laptop licence had been involved in selling #### and other shady deals. They even gave a supposed licence number and told him to turn on his computer. He ended the call straight away, but they kept ringing back about five more times. We’re pensioners, so it was really scary and unsettling. It’s hard to know who you can trust these days!!!

Got a call from someone pretending to be Microsoft, said there was a problem with my computer. Definitely one of those classic scams trying to trick you into giving access or money. Glad I didn't fall for it!

Got a call from someone claiming they were from Microsoft saying my computer had issues. Total rubbish, obviously. We ended up exchanging some choice words before I just ended the call.

Some bloke said he was from the cyber crime division, said he worked for Microsoft and that he was calling me from their Reading branch. He gave me a reference number and a licence code for my computer, saying if I switched it on, he’d guide me to check the code and prove he was legit. He claimed my computer was being hacked and used for illegal stuff like porn, which apparently breaks UK laws, and promised to help me fix it. I didn’t go along with it and just ended the call.

It was just a quick ring, barely enough time to pick up, and it ended up waking me from my nap. Really irritating!

Just like everyone else here, I pick up and then out of nowhere they hang up a few seconds later. Proper annoying, those muppets.

Some bloke called Kevin, said he was from Microsoft, kept getting shoutier when I told him I wasn’t buying it. Looks like Kevin reckons yelling at folks who doubt him is top-notch service. Total scam, so I just ended the call.

Nobody answered when I called. I’m curious why some people get bombarded with calls while others never do.

I tried calling back but no one picked up and then the call just dropped. Feels like a scam to me. When I tried the number again, it came up as "cannot be connected." They should really have a system to block calls that use fake caller IDs automatically.

Got a call from 01578436457 today, some woman claiming to be from Microsoft. She said they got reports that my PC's got issues and wanted to have a look. I asked her a bunch of questions to see what she was about, and after a bit she just ended the call on me. Felt like a total scam.

Got a call that felt dodgy right away, she started asking for my bank info. Decided to feed her some made-up details and the moment I mentioned it was a scam, she just hung up on me. Bit of a laugh really.
